Well, keep in mind - the State of Louisiana (at least) has some decent leadership now under Bobby Jindal, and we can hope that Ray Nagin learned his lesson after Katrina, so even if the worst does happen, it appears that this time the state and local authorities should be on the ball and things will be a lot better than back in '05. I really thought all of the previous chatter about Biden was a head-fake, designed to throw the press off the scent of the real pick. At this point, Obama is fast-becoming the only convincing argument I’ve seen in favor of gun control. He shoots himself in the foot so often that I’m shocked the man has any toes left.
Throughout my life I’ve often found truth embedded in the lyrics of my favorite records. At Yale, for example, I’d listened often to “Smiling Faces Sometimes,” a song by the Undisputed Truth that warns of the dangers of trusting the hypocrites who “pretend to be your friend” while secretly planning to do you wrong. Now I knew I’d met one of them: Senator Biden’s smooth, insincere promises that he would treat me fairly were nothing but talk. Instead of relaxing, I’d have to keep my guard up.
If child abuse is an evil that must be confronted, then infanticide is even more evil. What did Obama do when he saw this evil? Did he confront it, as one of God’s soldiers? Or did he facilitate it?
The answer now from the Obama campaign is clear. Obama facilitated evil in order to protect abortion on demand, which was never threatened by S.1082 in the first place. That much apparently wasn’t above his pay grade.

It should also say forthrightly that this entire line is a tragic and catastrophic failure of intelligence by the Democratic Party, who have had no coherent terrorism policy since 9/11 except to parrot MoveOn.org's stupidest sloganeering.
